Vasco & Piero’s Pavilion Restaurant
A tiny cozy restaurant located in the heart of Soho, this little Italian restaurant really surprised me with the authentic Italian cuisine. We saw this restaurant online, where its famous for its flavour of homemade Italian dishes. As a huge fan of pasta all the way, I ordered its infamous handmade tagliatelle with beef ragu – which is also, coincidentally, one of the restaurant’s signature dishes.
Their handmade tagliatelle was SOOOO yummy. The beef ragu was so rich and savoury, and went perfectly with the Al Dente tagliatelle. The lamb cutlets that my boyfriend had were also delicious, the aromatic, succulent lamb chops was cooked perfectly – to medium well.
For an Italian restaurant, I would say Vasco & Piero’s Pavilion Restaurant is actually one of the more expensive restaurants. There were four pasta choices (the only option I would actually pay attention to on an Italian menu!) and they each costed between £12-£18, which is priced higher than the average Italian restaurant. The lamb chops, like the other main courses, were priced at an average of £22. I’d say its slightly overpriced for the size of its dishes and the ambience of the restaurant – as the decor is very casual and local Italian, but they’re a famous restaurant, so that’s probably why their dishes are expensive!
We didn’t have the stomach for dessert after our meal, so we ended our dinner date with just two main courses. I’d recommend this restaurant for those looking for an authentic local Italian experience, yet it’s probably not the place if you’re looking for a fancy dine-out.
