Title: Promises to Keep
Author: Kathryn Shay
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Kindle Price: £0.00
One of the rare books that I’d give 5 ♥s to! The storyline was simply so good! It was actually also rated 5 stars on the Kindle Amazon store, plus it was free, that’s why I decided to give it a try!
Secret Service agents Joe Stonehouse and Luke Ludzecky goes undercover in Fairholm High School to defuse the threat flagged by the School Threat Assessment Team as having the potential for violence. Suzanna Quinn, the principal, hated the fact that there were government agents on a covert operation in her school, yet reluctantly accepted when she found herself, her most trusted friend and teacher Kelsey Cunningham and her own son, a student at Fairholm High on the ‘hit list’. Soon after, Suzanna finds herself being attracted to Agent Stonehouse, and Kelsey battles with her feelings when she finds herself enticed by Luke, her new ‘student’.
I loved the storyline, it’s a thriller and romance novel all in one! Questions about ethics and morals were raised and addressed throughout the book. Kathryn Shay really expressed the inner turmoil of the characters really well, its as if I could first-handedly experience all their conflicted emotions. But I loved the ending even more, because aside from the emotional struggles the main characters faced, the ending addressed them, how they overcame those feelings to choose a future that would bring them true happiness. I’m not going to elaborate on this! No spoilers!
You’d definitely enjoy this book if you’re looking for a suspense and romance novel. The plot is not too intense, but I simply LOVED this book! I found it hard to put down once I’ve started! So, expect reading late into the night and falling asleep with the book (or kindle!) in your hands.
After I’ve finished the novel, there was a special note:
Luke Ludzecky’s seven sisters each have their own stories – all available on Amazon
