Birthday Treat: Ring Making Workshop

Couples who’ve been together for a long time, may find that they are running out of things to do together for birthdays and anniversaries.  After last year’s huge birthday surprise my boyfriend planned for me involving loads of balloons flying off a terrace, I told him that this year I wanted something a little more subtle.  Being hardcore fashion fanatics, we are constantly on the lookout for clothes and accessories to add to our collection, hence he looked online and found this little silverware tinkering workshop.

For HKD900 plus the material fee (about HKD150 for both rings), we’ve got 3 hours to create two unique rings.  So we tinkered clumsily as first timers ought to be, and managed to produce our one-of-a-kind couple accessory with loads of help from the tutor in 4 hours.  We went massively overtime (we were initially allocated only three hours), as we had a difficult time deciding on the style and engraving.

I undoubtedly had a brilliant first experience on making silverware and I just can’t wait to go again to make bracelets and other silverware!  For those of you who are having a hard time deciding what to get for your partner for the next anniversary or their birthday, do give this activity a thought!  3 hours of air-conditioning in this immense heat is a great idea, plus you get to create something unique and meaningful just between you and your partner :)
